Alta, serena luce
io vegio ben omai che dove vai.

Ogni piacer riluce, donna mia,
appresso dove tuo biltà si posa;
et quando movi d'una parte via,
Amaro pianta I sa lei dogliosa:
ond'io non sento posa
negli mie' sensi tristi
po' che partisti el ben che mi conduce

Translation

High, serene light,
I see well by now that wherever you go

every pleasure brightens, my lady,
were your beauty dwells.
And when you move away

so that I feel restless
in my sad senses
since you parted from me my leading good spirit.
